Anthony Morrison scam alert: Scams spike in social media sites. Every day, e-mail scams are becoming more popular that target users on social media sites like Facebook or Twitter. The scam e-mail are very similar to traditional phishing scam e-mails. Just the traditional scam e-mails; new social media messages that plant malicious software that steals passwords on the victim’s PC. Scammers send out e-mails that have the appearance of legitimate messages from each social site. This scam e-mails ask the user to “update” their profile information by clicking on a link and entering their username and password information. In this scam them the users are asked to use an “update” tool which is usually a link to a password stealing trojan.
